Q - Can I install and Use aVeri-Core Digital Recording product on my Windows Vista computer?
A - Yes. All of our recording solutions are Windows Vista compatible. It is important to know that not all audio devices are Vista compatible. Since we interface with the broadest selection of audio devices, finding a suitable Vista compatible interface is not difficult. We have very qualified staff to assist in the process of developing a solution for you.

Q - Do I need to purchase a microphone mixer and a separate sound card to achieve multi-channel audio recordings?
A - No. Although any product from our digital recording suite will work with a solution that consists of both a microphone mixer and a multi-channel sound card, we will also interface with any USB2 or Firewire audio device. These analogue to digital audio devices will do the job of a mic mixer/sound card combination usually for a reduced upfront cost.

Q - What is archiving?
A - Archiving is basically a method of duplicating the files created when a recording is initiated. The archive files are stored in a separate location from the originals and are intended for long-term retention. The archiving process can be completely automated or configured to be a manual process.
![]()
Q - Can I archive to a network file server or do I have to archive to a Cd or DVD?
A - Yes. Even though our archiving process can accommodate any type of removable media including Cd’s, DVD’s, USB hard drives and thumb drives, we actually recommend network archiving when possible.

Q - We are considering the implementation of digital court reporting utilizing a central monitoring design. Will we need to purchase any additional software or hardware to accomplish this?
A - No. Once you purchase one of our digital recording products the Remote Recorder Console (RRC) is free. RRC is a client window that you install on any Windows based computer and does not require any additional hardware. This client window allows a user access to the recording product. With the use of RRC a user can connect to one or multiple recorders simultaneously.

Q - I understand that your audio is recorded in an MP3 format. What advantage is this over a proprietary audio format?
A - The first advantage is that the MP3 audio format is a high quality, low density format. It has the same advantages that we currently enjoy in our portable MP3 players; we can store many files in a small space. The second advantage is usability. This is your record and you should have ease of access for integration with other applications and/or network backup systems.

Q - Are we limited to only 4 independent channels of recorded audio?
A - No. The industry standard 4 channel recording has been carried over from the 4 channel analogue recorders. This was also a limitation from the early days of digital audio recording codecs. Current technology now offers us an almost unlimited possibility of recording channels. We offer up to 8 independent channels of recorded audio. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you must record 8 channels – it just means that you can.
![]()
Q - Can I use one of your digital recording solutions on my laptop to do mobile court reporting?
A - Yes, Omni-Scribe and Uni-Scribe will both work on a laptop. Uni-Scribe was specifically designed for mobile use. The mobile court reporter needs the same robust functionality of our other recording solutions without the need for any remote usage or heavy price tag.
![]()
Q - What are annotations and why are the important?
A - Annotations are a way of adding tags, or notes, to your record. Annotations provide for immediate retrieval of records through search functions. In addition, annotations provide for instantaneous playback of prerecorded audio.
![]()
Q - Can I playback and record at the same time?
A - Yes, definitely. Our unique, single window user interface was specifically designed for just that. There are three basics to the digital recording operation; record, playback and annotate. Our interface ensures that even if you are in playback listening to prerecorded audio you will never lose sight of the recording process.
![]()
Q - Can Remote Recorder Console perform a remote playback of recorded audio to another location?
A - Yes. The design of all of our products is based on a true client/server architecture through the use of TCP/IP protocols. Simply put, the software doesn’t care if you are actually operating it on the computer that is performing the recording or through the use of RRC at another location. Remote Playback is as easy as a click of mouse.
![]()
Q - What is Remote Recorder Console (RRC) and how does it work?
A - RRC is a software package that is designed to be installed on a computer other than the computer that has one of our recording solutions installed. The interface for RRC has the identical look and feel of the interface for the recorder, providing for complete remote operations.

Q - We are required to gather statistical data each month regarding the usage of our courtrooms and court reporting staff. Do you offer anything to assist with this Process?
A - Yes, we offer a product called VC Reports for just that. VC Reports will allow you to run reports on variety of subjects while providing you with comprehensive, customizable data.
![]()
Q - Why do you offer so many recording solutions?
A - Before the development of our digital recording solutions we realized that one size DOES NOT fit all. We also believe that you shouldn’t have to buy a school bus to move two people. Everyone has different needs and requirements that until now required the user to make major adjustments to their environment to accommodate recording solutions. We realized that it was more efficient to offer enough flexibility through our variety of recording solutions to eliminate this headache and expense. Also, with the options that we offer through our digital recording suite, you only have to buy what you’ll use.
![]()
Q - We have some situations where Omni-Scribe would be best suited and others where Ultra-Scribe would be best. Can we use both solutions in conjunction with each other to fulfill our recording needs?
A - All of our products are designed to be interoperable with complete transparency to the user. This means that you could have several Omni-Scribe recorders set up as well as Ultra-Scribe recorders. The Remote Recorder Console (RRC) just sees them as recorders, not how they are being recorded. This is the unique advantage that our digital recording suite offers, setting us apart from other providers.
![]()
Q - Are your digital recording solutions limited to only courts?
A - No. Although the need for digital court recording is where we got our start, we quickly realized that the flexibility that was built into our design offers perfect solutions for law enforcement interview rooms, corporate board meetings, council meetings and almost anything else requiring some type of a record.
![]()
Q - Can we record video as well as audio?
A - Yes. We offer an add on option for video recording in connection with our multi-channel audio recording.
![]()
Q - Can we use video for monitoring without actually recording it?
A - Yes. Our video add on option provides configurations for recording or simply monitoring.
![]()
Q - We currently use Sony BM 246 multi-track analogue recorders to record our proceedings. How difficult will it be for us to learn to operate your digital software solution?
A - The controls for the digital recording are very similar to the controls you are accustomed to using on your analogue recorders. We provide training with the purchase of any of our recording solutions.
![]()
Q - Can we use your Disaster Recovery Recorder without using one of your other digital recording solutions as our primary solution?
A - Yes. Our Disaster Recovery Recorder (DRR) is a single channel recording, independent of our multi-channel recording solutions. The DRR can be used even if you don’t have a primary recording solution and you simply want to capture a single channel recording of your proceedings. You can capture 1 to many proceedings on a single DRR.

Q - We are transitioning to digital court reporting and have very limited experience with audio/video equipment. Do you offer assistance with this?
A - We have very diverse and experienced staff that can help with the smallest question to assistance with complete audio and video integration.
![]()
Q - I am an independent court reporter looking for a solution that will provide me with a single source for my hardware and software support; do you offer this?
A - We offer a complete turnkey solution, the Mobile Recorder on Wheels, that not only takes the guesswork out of choosing hardware to complete your digital recording solution, but also provides a single source for all of your support needs.
![]()
Q - Do you offer any other kind of support other than phone support?
A - We offer a variety of support features including web based remote desktop support. Be assured that absolutely nothing is ever installed on your computer. Access to your computer is only granted when you allow it through a web interface.
